On Friday, December 12th, a large man dressed in a red suit attempted to crash the Brendan and Jake Holiday show at the Park West in Chicago. The impostor arrived at the venue just after the concert began, smelling of eggnog and slurring his words. He informed the box office his name was Santa Clause and insisted he was “on the list” but was unable to produce proper identification. He claimed he was running late because he was not able to find any parking for his sleigh, so he dropped his reindeer off at the Lincoln Park Zoo across the street for safe keeping. After being informed he would not be allowed into the sold out event, the white haired man started to raise his voice. The woman working at the Park West box office claimed he called her a “ho” multiple times before she alerted security. The scene started to draw attention away from the concert taking place inside the venue and a few of the elves ventured to the box office to see what was going on. While the man in red seemed familiar with the pointy eared helpers, the elves claimed they didn’t know who the man was, nor did they confirm Santa was even invited to the event. The Chicago Police Department finally arrived on the scene just after 9pm according to the police report. Though the Park West refused to press charges, the CPD arrested the man for trespassing, public intoxication and threatening to add the police officers to the “naughty list.”
