Nothing Too Fancy Everyday Ale Project Started as Wine

Written by Space Chonga

Umphrey’s McGee has just announced plans for their very own custom beer to be released this summer. The beer will be called Nothing Too Fancy Everyday Ale and will be brewed by Rock Brothers Brewing. But many questions still remain: will Stasik ever switch from drinking Budweiser? Can Bayliss switch from red wine? Is Waful an alien? Rumor has it that the band had originally planned to release their own wine.

“We would have done our own wine but I lost a bet. Not to mention grape vines take forever to grow and we aren’t sure how much longer Joel (Cummins) is going to last,” commented Brendan Bayliss, singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Umphrey’s McGee. “He’s getting older and lives the traditional lightning fast lifestyle of the typical Rock n’ Roll pianist.”

Bassist Ryan Stasik has shown much more support for the idea releasing a statement stating: “One day I will seriously get tired of the red label Bud heavy, and I feel like that day will come this summer. So I want to make sure that the only bottle I drink, from now on, has Umphrey’s McGee printed on it. Furthermore I want to make sure our fans can enjoy it too so they’ll rock as hard as we do…\mm/ ”

We contacted Joel for comments on the matter but he was too busy shopping for a new Murse. Jake Cinninger had a lot to say as well, but he insisted on playing mind bending solos the entire time we were on the phone with him. Andy Farrag is an other worldly being, an enigma or constellation of some type, and can’t be reached comment. By anyone. Ever.

As for Nothing Too Fancy Everyday Ale, the beer is served best with a hangover on the front porch. When questioned about a 40’s bottle-themed edition of the beer, the brewery had no comment. More detail to be released next month.
